Just like all sports and activities, there are some actions of etiquette that we learn as we get more involved in the activity. Sometimes we just do not know what we do not know. If you have played golf, you will know how to exit and rake a bunker. If you have played tennis you will know the correct way to return balls to the server.
To keep our newer bowlers up to speed with some do’s and don’ts of bowls we are running a session at the club this coming Saturday.
Our club is very fortunate to have Jean Ashby ONZM, as a Life Member of our club. Jean has earned National honours for her services to Bowls and she is willing to share her wealth of knowledge with us.
We are running a Rules and Etiquette session with one of our umpires, Jean Ashby this coming Saturday 17th February for 1-8 and business Plus bowlers.
This will be starting at 11.30 am and run for approximately one hour, and then you can then play the haggle afterwards at 1.00 pm if you wish.
I would encourage you all to attend this session to help you develop more knowledge about the game of bowls.
