On another beautiful autumn day the women’s 1st year singles was played, on the Harcourts Community carpet, since Bowls North Harbour Center had the Mayfair grass green for the Women’s Singles Championship section play and the Knightsbridge green was under maintenance.
The 2 players were Faye Kitchen and Mary Harvey and it was played best of 3 games, each to 12 points.
The first game went quickly to Faye with 12-2, and the second went to Mary with 12-4. So the deciding 3rd game became very exciting and it was great to see how both players managed to take into consideration how the conditions changed. In a quite even game Mary finally won with 12- 8.
Congratulations to Mary but well done to both, and we will see more of them in the coming winter season.
