Short and sweet – short so as not to take up the valuable time of members; and sweet with cake and muffins to finish.
The focus for Monday 21 October was to give attention to the lesser visited areas of the club. The ‘back office’, the areas around the sheds and the small driveway the members don’t usually use.
These areas were in need of a general clean and tidy up. Weeds, dirt and gravel gave the areas a dishevelled look. There were some early starters, and team work made for efficient work with buckets hoisted over the fence for others to transport to the skip waiting in the car park. (Not a bowls skip.)
While most of the team beavered away reducing weeds and general waste, Stuart M with Larry the barrowman concreted in some trip hazards around the green perimeters, satisfying a H&S request.
Jane James, with some assistance from the other Jane chipped weeds from compacted soil in the upper flower bed. Jane J has made a lovely job of tending this pretty area. Tony and Jane also put in a bit of overtime tidying around the carpark.
Many thanks to all who lent a hand.
