For the Women’s Singles Championship Singles on the weekend of 18 & 19 Jan 2025, we had 14 entries:

Colleen Rice, Joy Finney, Elaine McKlintock, Glenda Rountree, Jo Baxter, Helen Aley, Rosemary Nicol, Jan Gledhill, Julie Chhour, Muy Chhour, Judi Farkash, Flora Macdonald, Jodie Cottier and Theresa Rogers. Sadly Flora had to pull out because of an unfortunate accident, so we ended up with a bye.

After 2 rounds we had 6 qualifiers: Colleen, Elaine, Jan, Julie, Judi and Theresa.

The 3rd round was going to decide whether we had 6, 7 or 8 qualifiers! Glenda had a close game against Jo, 15-13, but with only one win, she could not qualify. Rosemary also had a quite close game against Helen, 19-13, which gave us 7 qualifiers.

Unfortunately, Colleen withdrew, thus making it a field of 6.

The Byes went to Elaine and Julie.

In the first quarter final, Jan played against Judi. They had a very close and exciting game, with Judi winning 21-19.

In the other quarterfinal Theresa defeated Rosemary 21-3.

In the semifinals Elaine won against Julie 21-8 and Theresa won against Judi 21-10.

In the final Theresa continued in fine form and defeated Elaine 21-14. Congratulations Theresa!

A great tournament with some excellent bowls, congratulations to all.
