A beautiful autumn day saw 13 teams playing 2-4-2 pairs in ideal bowling conditions – mostly warm and sunny, minimal breeze, and the green running well and true despite being a little wet.
There were two four winners and three three winners, but only three prizes. Unlucky were Tony Popplewell and Steve McGregor (22 ends), and John Smith and Michael Jelley (19 ends).
First place went to Murray Radojkovich and Lorna Donald with four wins, 22 ends and a massive 52 points.
Second was an incognito team (turned out to be Gaye Horne and Joy Watkinson), also with 4 wins and 22 ends but only 41 points.
Third, with three wins and 24 ends was Judi Farkash and Colleen Rice. Lucky dip went to Graeme Storey and Joy Finney.
Thanks to all those who pitched in to help with the many tasks that combined to make the day enjoyable and successful.
There are two triples tournaments next week – one on Tuesday (Steve McGregor convenor) and the other on Thursday (Tony Stanaway convenor). Entries online as usual.
There are only seven entries for the Tuesday tournament as of the time of writing this report and we need a minimum of 12 teams to make it work, so get your entries in otherwise it will have to be cancelled.
Graeme Storey is looking for a partner for Tuesday so please contact him if you are too.
A lovely days bowling played in great spirit.
Steve McGregor (convenor)
