On Sunday, the Latimer cup for 1- 8 year bowlers was held at Browns Bay.  The conditions were very difficult with a strong cross wind, some rain in the afternoon and chilly conditions.  20 teams lined up to take the spoils.  Mairangi Bay had four teams entered.

Roger Potter, Bill Lowe, Pat Smith and Graeme McGregor.
They lost both their morning games to Hobsonville and Browns Bay, but won their third game against another Hobsonville team.
Their fourth game was against Gaye Horne’s team: it was a close one but they went down in the last two ends.

Stuart Mackay, Ralph Cullen, Jane Mackay and Annie McGrath.
They also only had the one win, losing to the Manly team with Shaun and Skye who finished second.
They also lost to the Browns Bay team who finished third.

Judi Farkash, Glyn Taylor, Flora Macdonald and Rosemary Nicol.
They had a reasonable day winning two of their games.
They beat two Hobsonville teams but lost to Mahurangi and Browns Bay.

Gaye Horne, Barry Baillie, Joy Watkinson and Julie Chhour.
They had three wins and a draw.
They drew with Shaun Goldbury’s Manly team who finished second overall.

Browns Bay finished third.
But Gaye’s team took the main prize, the Latimer Cup.

Well done Gaye, Barry, Joy and Julie.  Continuing the tradition of success in this tournament for Mairangi Bay.

A big thank you to the Mairangi Bay supporters who turned up on Sunday.
