Labour Day Monday saw the running of the Bays Cup for all 1-5 bowlers, held at Mairangi Bay.
Sponsored by our own Les Boulton, this is one of the few 1-5 tournaments being run, with most now being inclusive of 1- 8 year bowlers. We are very grateful to Les for his kind and generous sponsorship.
We had 33 teams, with a late withdrawal, teams coming from Mangawhai to Pukekohe. Mairangi Bay had 7 teams entered.
Overall results were that four teams had four wins with the winners being Jean-Claude Fuller and Zack Buckingham from Te Atatu (Zac also won it last year). They had 4 wins 29 ends.
Second was our very own Mairangi Bay team, husband and wife, Jane and Stuart Mackay, 4 wins and 27 ends. Well done!!
Third was Shaun Goldsbury and Andy Dorrance from Manly, 4 wins and 26 ends.
Fourth was Mukesh Rohra and Linda Anderson from Carlton/Cornwall with 4 wins and 25 ends. Mukesh is a regular visitor to our club.
