The weather was much improved for the second round of the Bowls North Harbour pennants on Saturday.

There was some light rain during the opening round but that settled down for the next two rounds.

Division 1  played at Manly.
The Mairangi Bay Sharks had a bye in their round 3, in their round 4  game they defeated Helensville 8-2 and then lost to Manly 4-6 in round 5.  Currently, they sit 6th out of seven teams, they play two of the top three teams on Saturday, Takapuna and Riverhead.

Thanks to Gordon Jenkins for filling in.

Division 2. – Takapuna
The Mairangi Bay Stingrays played at Takapuna.  In round 3, they lost 2-6 to Browns Bay, round 4 they had a bye and in round 5 they beat Sunnybrae 6-2.  They currently sit in fifth place.  They play Beachhaven and Mahurangi next Saturday.

Division 2.- Omaha
The Mairangi Bay Dolphins were up at Omaha.  Round 3 they lost to Manly 2-6, round 4 they lost to Takapuna 2-6 and in round 5 they went down to Mahurangi East 0-8.  With only two days of play in their section draw, they are not required this coming Saturday.  They finished at the bottom of the table but were not disgraced.

Thanks to Jim Price for filling in.

A slightly better day for Mairangi than last Saturday, but in the end all three teams have struggled against some very good opposition.

Weather permitting this Saturday is the last day.
