Sadly I have to advise that Joy Cheer, our Patron and a Life Member, passed away on Saturday aged 96.

Joy founded the Mairangi Bay Womens Bowling Club in the 1960’s and was tireless with her administrative skills in the success of that club before merging with the men’s club in 2005.

I do not know when Joy’s funeral will be but I understand it will be at Forrest Funeral Services, Browns Bay.

I am sure members all join me in conveying condolences to Joy’s family at this sad time.
