Merry Christmas everyone.
We made it, another crazy year, time to celebrate!!!
The first announcement is that the 1-5yr A/C Pairs has been postponed.
The team will find an alternative date and you will be advised when that happens.
We have one team playing in the Mangawhai 1-5 Tournament on the 27th December.
Flora Macdonald, Stuart Mackay, Rick George and Rosemary Nicol.
Unfortunately, we did not receive a flyer from Mangawhai and when I contacted them at the end of November the tournament was full.
This is a very good tournament always played on the 27th, so pencil it in for next year.
Sunday, December 5th saw all North Harbour rep teams play Auckland in the Battle of the Bridge.
Congratulations to Gaye Horne, Judy Farkash, Hanaan Shahwan, and Glenda Rountree for making the 1-5 North Harbour Woman’s representative team. The team had a good victory over Auckland.
Well done Ladies.
Thank you to all players who put their names forward for the Junior Interclub to be held on Saturday/Sunday 8/9th January.
The selectors have picked the following teams:

Pairs – Gaye Horne (Skip) and Rick George.
Triples – Rick Dixon (Skip), Glenda Rountree and Michael Thomas.
Team Kea (Manager – Alan Daniels.)
Singles – Joy Finney
Pairs – Flora Macdonald (Skip) and Graeme McGregor.
Triples – Glyn Taylor (Skip), Rosemary Nicol and Barry Butcher.
The reserve is Roger Potter.
The final day for entries is 24th December 2021, so a draw will be conducted possibly the week after Christmas.
We will then know all the details, particularly the venue.
It is likely the two teams will play at different venues.
Saturday is qualifying and Sunday is finals.
The 1st year Singles Championships for Women and Men are scheduled to be held on Saturday 12/13th February.
So all you newbies make sure you have that date in your bowls diary.
There is a JACKPOT Pairs afternoon on Tuesday 28 December. This is a single entry event and there is a blind draw for partners. Lots of fun and lots of prizes. Enter online or by calling Ric Lydford. 09 410 6870
The bowls program recommences on Tuesday 4th January 2022 with the Arena tournament. If you are interested in playing and not in a team talk to Sandra Coombe who will try and find a team for you.
Thursday 6th is Open Pairs and Saturday 8th is the first Haggle.
