Notice re change of dates due to latest Level 3 lock down –
This latest lock down of Auckland being placed into Alert Level 3 by the Government, has made changes for everyone inevitable. No one business, sports club or any other event organiser, including the America Cup regatta, has been left untouched and alternative arrangements have had to be put in place.
Bowls North Harbour (BNH) is not immune to the effect of these lock downs. Our upcoming events, some of which had qualifying for national events at stake, have had to be moved around to provide the most practical solution to find the eventual winners. It certainly was not our preference and even now we cannot be sure that further changes will not be necessary if the current lock down is extended or modified.
On a best case scenario, and that assumes Auckland reverts to Alert Level 2 or better this coming weekend 6/7 March, then the BNH Board has decided on the following changes to its programme –
Cadness Cup Women & Men
Changed to Day 1 – 12 March, Day 2 – 26 March and Day 3 – 16 April.
Draw and COP to remain the same with just the change of dates. Venues to stay the same subject to clarification with the hosting clubs concerned.
National Interclub 7’s Women & Men
Changed to Day 1 – 13 March, Day 2 – 27 March and Day 3 – 28 March.
Draw and COP to remain the same with just the change of dates. Venues to stay the same subject to clarification with the hosting clubs concerned.
Women’s Singles & Men’s Triples
These events have been moved to the new dates of 10 & 11 April.
Closing date for entries has been moved to Wednesday 24 March.
Women’s & Men’s 1-5 year singles
These events have been moved to the new dates of 24 & 26 April.
Closing date for entries has been moved to Friday 9 April.
We are aware that these changes may impact some other events which clubs may have in place both as open events or even club championship events. This is regretted but with the matter outside of our control, and the need for BNH to complete certain events preparatory to national finals, it has been necessary for us to find the most appropriate dates which affords players the best opportunities for their participation in the events of their choice.
