The fourth edition of All the Pairs was held last Tuesday.
The forecast was for a few light showers, unfortunately those showers were not light. So after two games and an early lunch, we were forced on to the carpet green.
The day consists of six games of pairs, all over eight ends.
Hong Kong Pairs – 2-4-2.
English Pairs – 2-2. A very quick game.
Aussie Pairs – 2-2-2-2. Lots of walking
Bonus Pairs – 3-3. Leads win bonus points, after they have bowled.
Shanghai Pairs – 3-3. Consistency pairs. 1st shot 4 points, 2nd shot 2 points and 3rd shot 1 point.
Bowls2Four – 3-3 . Two sets of four ends with one power play. A tiebreaker end if sets are drawn.
A fun and enjoyable event although a little tiring.
The WINNERS were : Allan Langley and George Jones. 6 Wins and 30 ends.
Second was : Phill Chisholm and Theresa Rogers. 5 wins and 28 ends.
Third was: Colin Rogan and Bruce McClintock 5 wins and 26 ends.
The lucky dip was won by Alan Daniels and Louise Ball.
Another lucky dip for a bag of pears was won by Elaine McClintock and Bart Robertson.
The final prize was a ‘thanks for coming’ prize of a bag of pears, and that went to Gerd Hutcheson and Enid Di Cesare.
A lot of people to thank for helping on the day:
Tony Stanaway, Colin Rogan, Gaye Horne, Gerd Hutcheson, Enid Di Cesare, Phill Chisholm, Glyn Taylor, Michael Jelley, John Gledhill, Jan Gledhill and Colleen Rice.
Hope I have not missed anyone.
See you at the next All the Pairs.
