Thursday March 21 provided us with a stunning Autumn day on which to play the final round in the Fairview/Settlers Series.

There were the usual queries as to why the entry fee was $15.00 and the standard answer “because there is a bigger spread of prizes”  A total of 14 prizes were distributed among a field of 20 teams

In First Place, the only 4 winner of the day was the team of Evan Thomas, Steve Hoefft & Ian Hardy who have been very loyal supporters of all our tournaments. Second place went to David Payne, Chris Charles & Andy Dorrance with 3 1/2 wins,  Bruce McClintock, Elaine McClintock & Colin Rogan were the best of the 3 winners, with Kevin Cameron, Brian Rogers & Glyn Taylor,  Joy Watkinson, Jo Baxter & Glenda Rountree also scoring 3 wins & coming 4th & 5th respectively.                     The AM prize went to Ian Coombe, John Valentine & Bruce Aley with the PM prize going to Tony Trent, Lorna Donald & Alwyn Barlow.   13 was a lucky number for Judi Farkash’s team. While Rick George walked off with a delicious looking meat pack from the Meat Room & Gordon Jenkins & Larry Cain each had a bottle of red wine to take home. The latter 3 additional prizes from Robyn (Fairview) & Linda (Settlers) who were on hand to give out the prizes.

The club is greatly indebted to Robyn & Linda for their ongoing support and very happy to hear them confirm they will be back next year.
