St Patricks Day – weather conditions were good the afternoon play of the annual St Patricks day tournament. Some early re- arranging of the rinks took place as we moved around a championship game in progress and 34 members of all classes took to the green as we welcomed three from Business House plus members for the afternoon of bowls.
Only two players managed to win all three games these being visitor Susan Jenkins and Ian Coombe. After that there was 2 wins and a draw to Bruce Aley and then a number with 2 wins.
The best round 2 winner with the highest number of points was Russell Parkinson closely followed by Michael Thomas only 1 point adrift.
The winners from round 1 as a win and highest points was Ralph Cullen followed by John Gledhill.
Other prizes were handed out from two lucky draws plus the best dressed (Barry McCrystal) and those that set up the green as well.
There were 40 people who sat down for the Chinese buffet style meal which followed.
Thank you to all that turned up and those that set up the greens and looked after the kitchen both before and after the meal. Very much appreciated.
