November 29 and 30 saw the 18th year of Harcourts Classic Fours  The rain stayed away and although the wind made conditions a bit tricky at times the tournament was played in  fine weather.

Once again, we are indebted to Harcourts Cooper and Mairangi Bay and particularly Jo Mimmack and James Dixon for their ongoing support.   The coffee and cone van was very well supported on both days and certainly much appreciated

Many thanks to Enid and Noelene for doing the charts on Wednesday and Irene and  Noelene on Thursday.  Thank you also to Gaye and Jo for organizing the nibbles for Thursday’s prize-giving, plus Joy Finney & Graeme McGregor who worked in the kitchen.

We had a field 26 teams made up 10 visiting teams,  and the rest, were loyal Mairangi players. Martin Cooper was on hand to make a short presentation before Prize Giving where James did the honours of presenting the prizes.

The result was a close finish with the team of Andy Dorrance, Shaun Goldsbury, Sandy Wilson, and Keith Benson coming out on top with 33 points and 50 ends, beating the Mairangi Bay team of Theresa Rogers, Phill Chisholm Jerry Strydom with Alan, Telford (Wednesday), & Roger Potter (Thursday) who had 33 points and 44 ends.
