Despite a rainy morning and early afternoon, a dozen hardy hagglers turned up full of hope and optimism that Auckland’s fickle weather would turn in their favour.

And it did and they were duly rewarded with a nice warm rain-free afternoon of 3 bowls pairs and a very pleasant social hour afterwards.

With expectations of rain interruptions, there was no entry or prizes much to the disappointment of the only 3 winners David Payne and Julie Chhour.
