Four keen teams of ladies entered the Women’s Championship Fours this year. After 3 games on Saturday 25 February, there were two teams with two wins and two teams with one win. The final was played between the “two winners” on Sunday 26 February. All games were played on the carpet green as this summer’s inclement weather has continued to cause problems on the grass greens.
A six dropped by the runners up on the ninth end made a significant difference to the game. The final score of 16 – 15 was close and showed a good fight back.
The winning team was Gaye Horne (skip), Caryl Miles, Louise Ball and Joy Watkinson.
The runners up were Sheryl Wellingon (skip), Theresa Rogers, Colleen Rice and Jan Gledhill.
