Even with many of our players taking part in the Bowls North Harbour Pennants competition, we had a field of 22 for the Saturday pm Haggle. The Mayfair green was newly mown and running at a great speed, which made the conditions tricky as the breeze was quite gusty.
Not too many concerns for the winning team of John Miles and Stuart McKay as they managed two and a half wins, with 15 ends and 26 points. Congratulations, what a team !!
2nd – 2W, 15E, 30P – Russell Parkinson, Ralph Cullen and Glenda Rountree
3rd – 2W, 13E, 25P – Dave Hope and Rob Finney
4th – 2W, 13E, 24P – Norm Clarke and Jim Center
Many thanks to Russell Parkinson and his side-kick Garth Partridge for organising the draw for 22 participants in the 2-4-2 format and for making sure there were no byes by having two teams of triples.
The after match prize giving was held amid a club house full of the Mairangi Bay Fishing Club members, families and friends who were celebrating their first shot gun start fishing competition.
Haggle Saturday 14 November 2020
The starting sheet for Saturday next week, the 14th, did not get circulated and will be up in the entrance to the club rooms. As there are no Bowls North Harbour Centre events the field will be back to the usual high numbers. The best way to enter is to put your name on the sheet and it’s best to do this as soon as you can.
