Hi there from Alan Daniels, Junior Convenor.
Welcome to my first update for the new season.   

Firstly I would like to say goodbye to the bowlers leaving the Junior ranks.  
Judy Cowie,  Rachel Long, Judy Cameron, David Lloyd and Tony Trent,  who now all become  1-8 year Bowlers.  

A BIG WELCOME to the new first year bowlers.  
Linda Valentine, Bob Mullen and Neil Rogers.  
And also to David Payne a year 3 bowler who has joined us from Glenfield .  

For all the 1-8 year bowlers I will include you in any information which pertains to 1-8 competitions.  

Also BIG THANKS to the Coaches Ian Hardy, Rex Redfern and John Miles for all their efforts and encouragement . Particularly to Ian Hardy for his coaching skills sessions and continued enthusiasm.  

Selectors
And BIG Thanks to the selectors Garry Banks, Leon Wech, Tony Popplewell.  They will be joined by Colleen Rice this year with Tony Popplewell taking over as Convenor. This  is the group of people you will need to impress this year.

Our Club Captains Phyl Humphries (Ladies) and Barry McCrystal (Men’s) carry on for the new season, many thanks to them.   Also BIG THANKS to David Pearse and Phyl Humphries for running all our Club Champ competitions.  

Skills Coaching
Skills Coaching will start on Monday, September 11th around 4.00pm. This will start on the carpet green and will be a mixture of carpet and grass later on.

The skills coaching is open to everyone and is an excellent session to improve your skills.  

Club Uniforms
Sandra Coombe is in the process of ordering Club gear so if you need some new gear particularly the new members I suggest you contact her as soon as possible at  Sandra.coombe@outlook.com  

Season Opening
The New season starts on this Saturday10th September with the Official Opening at 1.00pm, followed by a game of bowls and afternoon tea around 3.00pm. If you are planning to attend please register your name on the lists down by the entrance way to the club room.  If you are attending the afternoon tea can you please bring a plate.  

The New Season
Last year was a very successful one for the Juniors and the Challenge will be to keep the momentum going. Looking at the players we have available I believe there is a very strong chance that we will have another rewarding year.  

Finally, I do have a confirmed date for the Milford 5000 for 2018, it is February 3/4. The format will be the same: 3 players per team, (2 players 1-5yr and 1 player 6-8yr.,  or 3 players 1-5yr.)

The Greens are looking fantastic and big thanks to Hamish for all his work.
