Oh it’s great to almost be back.  Almost as we were forced to restrict the numbers for the Thursday Triples as there was just the one grass green available. Next week, with both greens in use, we should be back to full swing.  Yippee, there’s nothing like playing our great game on grass.

Congratulations to the team of Ian Coombe, John Valentine and Bruce Aley, the only four game winning team.  4W, 22E, 38P (sorry there was no photo opportunity).

2nd – Neil Buckner, David Payne and Colleen Rice: 3 and a half W, 21E, 44p
3rd – Arthur Beale, Jim Price and Tony Stanaway: 3W, 20E, 41P
4th – George Durbridge, Ian Baxter and John Lindsay: 3W, 20E, 38P
am prize – Roy Finlay, John Miles and Geoff Ladd
pm prize – Tony Trent, Gaye Horne and Ron Horne
Lucky Dip – George Jones, Garth Partridge and Bob Mullen

Start sheets are up on the notice board for upcoming club competitions.

Next Thursday, 1st October we look forward to having both greens available and a full field for the Open Any Combination Triples.

Working Bee
The mini-working bee on Tuesday 22 September was advised on very short notice.  Many thanks to Bruce Aley, Alan Donnelly, David Lloydd, Cathy Lloydd for morning tea, Mike Wilkinson, Glyn Taylor, Trevor Tozer, Gordon Jenkins, Peter Orgias, Rick Dixon, George Durbridge, Allan Langley who, among other tasks, replaced the ditch mats and helped with the tidy up.

The job of removing the grass strip between the greens is underway and the contractor is looking for the right weather to lay the concrete which will replace the grass and will then be covered with artificial grass.  This is a work area and members should avoid the area.
