Waitangi Day saw slightly cooler and overcast conditions for the field in the Any Combination, Open Triples competition and despite the public holiday the field was a good size that featured the return of a number of our regulars who had not been playing recently.
The results were unusual as there was no team with 4 wins and a whole bunch with three wins. Some of the three winners had 2 draws and as 2 draws equal a win, their score were recorded as three wins.
Even better than three wins was the team of Peter Orgias, Gordon Jenkins and Allan Langley with three and a half wins, 22 ends and 58 points.
Second were Stuart Jamieson, Brian Nolan and Steve McGregor with 2 wins, 2 draws, 22 ends and 38 points.
Third went to Kevin Cameron, David Lloyd and Margaret O’Carroll with 2 wins, 2 draws, 22 ends and 32 points.
Great to see Helen Aley up and about just two week after knee surgery. Wishing you a speedy recovery Helen. It looks like you will not be needed those crutches for too much longer.
