The final Bowls North Harbour Centre Champ of Champ event was held on the weekend.

This was the mixed 2x4x2 pairs.

It was the first time this event has been played, previously this was a normal pairs mixed event and it now goes on to a national final.

Mairangi Bay representatives were Sandra and Ian Coombe.
They played John and Noeline Holdsworth from Mahurangi East in the first round.  Both Ian and Sandra played extremely well (despite their jetlag) and had a big win 23-7.

In the quarter final they played Rona Turner and John Walker from Browns Bay.  Rona and John played some great bowls and our Mairangi Bay team struggled to get into the game, going down 6-19.  Both were disappointed in how they played but they played a very good team which then went on to win the final.

Rona and John played Robyne Walker and Brent Malcolm in the final, coming out the winners 14-12 in a very close game.
