Last weekend the Bowls North Harbour OPEN Any Combination 2-4-2 competition was held with 64 teams competing.

The weather was overcast but fine on Saturday but became very dark for those that had to play a fourth game.  Sunday was a difficult day with light showers, then persistent drizzle and gusty winds as the day went on.

At Belmont Park:
Bruce McClintock and Theresa Rogers had two wins out of three and finished second in their section.  The winner of each section going through to the next round.

David Payne and Julie Chhour also had two wins but finished second on nett shots.
Elaine McClintock playing with Walter Howden had a win and a draw and finished third.

At Browns Bay:
Irene Donaldson and Wayne Glogoski had only the one win finishing up third.
Kerin Roberts playing with Warren Seeque from Orewa had two wins but topped their section on nett shots.

Apologies to Kerin for ommitting her name on my pre-report on Friday.

At Hobsonville:
Phill Chisolm and Sheryl Wellington had two wins and finished second.
David Lloyd and Colleen Rice had two wins but finished first on nett shots.

So close for a number of our players, but only David Lloyd and Colleen Rice and Kerin Roberts with Warren Seeque made it through to the round of sixteen.

David and Colleen had a big win, beating Garry Banks and Grant Keats from Takapuna 13-3 going on to the quarter finals.
Kerin and Warren  had a very close game losing 12-13, which meant they moved into the plate section.

On Sunday the finals were held at Takapuna.
In the plate  quarter final Kerin and Warren had a good win 16-10.
In the semi final another great win 13-5.
The final was against Garry Banks and Grant Keats, with Kerin and Warren taking the win 12-8.

Well done to them.

In the top section on Sunday, first up were the quarter finals.
David and Colleen lost to Neil and Ian Fisher 19-8.
What an excellent performance by these two, with this being the first time they had played together in a BNH competition.

The final was between Chris Bailey and Allan McQuoid from Orewa who beat Shaun Goldsbury and Sky Renes from Manly 19-10.
